As of 2025 electric simulation is no longer a part of the Gcompris package. The easiest way to get it up and running is to download and install Ubuntu 14.04.2 ISO file. When installed manually install Gcompris:
sudo apt-get -y install gcompris gnucap gcompris-sound-da
It should also be possible to run it as a live boot from an USB stick.
